How to make Windows USB flash install media from Linux

I've already shared how to do this on my forum, but thought it would be beneficial to share it here as well, since many not view the forum. After trying many ways of creating a bootable flash drive for installing Windows shown online, I successfully found a method that actually works. Requirements: Gparted sudo apt-get install gparted USB flash drive Instructions: Insert the USB flash drive, then open gparted. In the upper right corner of gparted, click on the dropdown menu and select the USB drive. Note the filesystem. In this example, lets assume it is /dev/sdf In the main window in gparted, delete all of the partitions and format the drive as NTFS. After formatting, right-click the drive…

Memorial Day Weekend

On most weekends, I am on the computer doing personal tech-related projects, watching random videos on Youtube, or even thinking about what I should be doing next with one of my Raspberry PIs. Tech is not only my job, it's my hobby. Since this weekend is a 3-day weekend, I could have done a fairly large project, but instead, I decided to give the computer a break. This weekend, I am spending a lot of time with my wife and doing other things I enjoy. I really enjoy the outdoors and I was always outside when I was a kid. Joe's Tech Interview Questions

I've been in tech for a long time and have interviewed quite a bit from small to very large companies. All of the questions mentioned on this page are ones I have been asked for IT-related positions. User says their internet is slow and that it takes ages to get to websites. What steps would you do to troubleshoot? Tell me five ways to find the current date and time on a Linux system. How would you delete a file called -f on a Linux system? Can you…

ZigSphere Site Going Down

Many of you know of the site that I've had for years, ZigSphere. The site was intended to help the world with technology and to share technical knowledge with others around the world. My passion is working with tech, but at the same time, sharing what I learn with others. I wanted to create a community, a place to collaborate and share everything we all know into one place. Over the last few years, I haven't had much time to work on the site and finding people who would join the community is extremely hard. Writing the site itself was hard on its own due to the fact that I am not a web developer. Even so, I managed to…

Hello World

Hello World! Today, I started to spin up my own blog site. Rather than going out to social media and sharing what I've been up to, I decided to bring everything to my own site. I love sharing with the world what I've been doing, my adventures around the world, personal tech projects, and pretty much anything else you can think of. I'm extremely excited to finally be able to spin something like this up. I've been looking around on the internet to decide what blog platform to write on. Rather it being hosted by another company, I decided to spin up my own hosted server and manage it myself. Yes, I'm happy to say, my managed server is managed…
